The RoleWe are looking for an experienced senior events professional to help lead and evolve our Events & Experiences programs team at an important stage of GDM's journey and the wider AI sector. Our internal events program plays a key role in enabling our work and mission and building our culture for 2500 Google DeepMinders located across multiple locations, time zones and disciplines. The program may include GDM-wide conferences, town halls and hackathons alongside team offsites, social events, celebrations and DEI events.
Our external-facing program of events are where we engage with the wider AI community of academia, research and science, as well as industry, government, press and the general public to showcase and build trust and advocacy for our work and mission.. The program may include conferences, education outreach events, exhibitions, dinners, networking events and public policy summits. We are entering uncharted territory in AI development and this is an exciting opportunity to create unique experiences that demonstrate the benefits of AI to society.
Event formats are a mix of in person, hybrid and virtual events and may take place in our Google DeepMind offices or offsite at suitable external venues.
The Events & Experiences Programs Lead will report into and partner with the Global Head of Events and Experiences and lead a team of 5 event managers/producers. They will collaborate closely with the Events & Experiences Operations Lead and with teams across Google DeepMind (and Google) including Marcomms, Research, Workplace and Education.
